# AI Visibility: are you the answer?

Buyers increasingly ask an AI assistant before they search. If the assistant does not name you, you never enter the shortlist and you never find out you were skipped. Verbinge measures that directly, in two halves.

## 1. Answer-engine visibility

Verbinge keeps a set of **buyer questions** for your workspace, generated from your Brand Brain.

**None of them mention your company by name.** A question that already names you is guaranteed to produce a mention and measures nothing. The useful questions are the ones where you have to earn your place against alternatives, for example "best hiring platform for a growing team in Dubai" rather than "what is Acme".

Questions are spread across the buying process:

| Intent | What it captures |
| --- | --- |
| Awareness | Broad problem questions, before the buyer knows the category |
| Consideration | Comparisons and "best X for Y" questions |
| Decision | Specific, ready-to-buy questions |

Every week Verbinge asks each question and records:

- **Whether you were named** in the reply.
- **Your position**, meaning your rank among all brands named. Position 1 means you were recommended before any competitor.
- **Which competitors were named**, so you can see who is taking the answer.
- **An excerpt of the reply**, so you can see why it scored the way it did.

From those we derive your **visibility rate**: the share of tracked questions where you were named. The dashboard always shows the denominator, because "60%" means something very different from five questions than from fifty.

### Which engine is measured

Verbinge asks the answer engine configured on your workspace, and **every result records the provider and model that produced it**. Your dashboard attributes the number to that engine by name.

This matters and we will not blur it: engines answer differently, so a result from one is not evidence about another. A number presented as "AI visibility" in general, without naming the engine behind it, is not a measurement you should trust from anyone.

### Curating the question set

Generated questions are a starting point, not a fixed list. You can add your own questions, remove ones that do not reflect how your buyers think, and re-generate to top up the set. Regenerating never duplicates a question you already track.

You can also run the checks on demand instead of waiting for the weekly sweep.

## 2. AI crawler analytics

Because Verbinge hosts your blog, every request already passes through our own servers. AI crawlers are identified by their user agent as they arrive.

That means:

- **Nothing to install.** No tracking script, no tag manager, no log drain.
- **Nothing an ad blocker can hide.** This is measured server-side, not in the browser.

Verbinge tracks **21 AI crawlers** and, importantly, separates them by what they actually mean for your business:

| Kind | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| **Live answers** | Someone asked an assistant a question right now and it fetched your page to answer. The strongest signal there is. |
| **AI search indexing** | An answer engine added your page to the corpus it cites from. A leading indicator of being cited. |
| **Model training** | Bulk collection for training. The highest volume and the least immediate business meaning. |

Collapsing these into a single "AI traffic" number destroys the signal, so Verbinge never does.

You also see which articles AI engines actually read, so you can tell which topics are pulling their weight.

### A note on what is not a crawler

`Google-Extended` and `Applebot-Extended` are **robots.txt control tokens, not user agents**. No request ever arrives identifying as either, so no honest tool can report visits from them. They only control whether your content may be used for training.

## How the two halves connect

Crawler analytics is the leading indicator; answer-engine visibility is the outcome. Engines cite content that is specific, factual and well structured, which is why Verbinge grounds every draft in your real website rather than writing generic industry commentary. Getting read is what eventually gets you named.

## Where to find it

Open **AI Visibility** in your Verbinge dashboard. If you run several blogs, the **Clients** view shows the visibility rate for every one of them side by side, sorted so the ones needing attention come first.
